The Boeing Company is looking for a Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) Senior Manager to lead the MATES Midwest (MW) region Metrology Operations team. The MATES MW region consists of operations at: St. Louis, MO, Philadelphia, PA, Mesa, AZ, Salt Lake City/West Jordan, UT, San Antonio, TX, and Pax River, MD. This role will be located in St. Louis, MO., and will be responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners and direct reports, and leading cross-functional efforts to optimize the quality, quantity, composition and safety of calibrated asset inventories across the enterprise.

Cultivate, support and promote a proactive, risk-based, plan-do-check-act culture in support of Boeing Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS)
Manages employees and first-level-leaders performing engineering, quality and technical activities with the Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) team
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Provides AS9100D Quality Management System (QMS) oversight for Metrology operations at MATES MW region sites
Leads and manages direct / indirect / non-labor financial performance, forecasting / estimating process and staffing for a large geographically dispersed team
Leads Unit Level Skill Team / People Council and maintains alignment with 6L & M&Q regional/enterprise skill management strategies
Interface with enterprise quality, programs, suppliers, customers, business partners and regulatory agencies (e.g. FAA, DCMA, and NQA)
Lead implementation of standardized procedures, processes, systems and practices across the MATES Enterprise
Travel required based on business requirements
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree or higher
2+ years of experience leading or managing projects and /or teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Metrology or measurement science domain experience
Experience communicating strategy and performance to diverse audiences (e.g. executives, sr. managers, peers, business partners, teams)
Experience leading a large geographically distributed organization
Hands on experience leading projects and initiatives that resulted in sustainable operational and functional effectiveness, safety and/or quality improvements and/or reduction of overall costs to the business
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
