Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a Mid-Level Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) to join the BDS Production Engineering Home Office team located in Berkeley, ****MO. This unique position is seeking experienced engineers with Material Review and Disposition experience supporting multiple programs across Boeing Defense business units, which includes: Bombers and Fighters, Vertical Lift, Autonomous Systems, Missile and Weapons Systems, and Space and Launch.  This position will work directly with production engineering teams on various programs, providing surge support capability to meet production program objectives.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout the production lifecycle.
• Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances.
• Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues to develop interim and final engineering solutions.
• Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances.
• Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Represents the engineering community in the production environment, providing shipside support.
• Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards.
• Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
• Develops and implements product/process improvements.
• This position may require shift flexibility, based on business needs.
• Must be able to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays as needed, based on business needs.
• Non-standard work week options may also be utilized to meet business objectives.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Export Control:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
• 3 or more years of experience in repair concepts and methodologies including standard repair processes, component repair concepts, structural and composite repair procedures, and basic electrical repair procedures, and basic system repair processes.
• 3 or more years of experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board and Integrated Product Team activities related to aircraft repairs).
• Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

• 1+ year Material Review Board Certification experience
• 1+ years of experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
• Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience.
• Production engineering experience with relevant technological knowledge.
• Excellent problem solving skills.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
