The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Special Mission Systems Manager (Level K) located in Tukwila, WA. The is an exciting opportunity for you to manage highly skilled engineers and technicians performing engineering and technical development activities in the areas of electromagnetic propagation and scattering, antennas, electro-optic and infrared systems and materials and electronics and electrical systems. This position requires a highly motivated person to develop and execute a variety of specialized engineering and process plans to meet or exceed program customer needs. You will be deeply involved in technical projects providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. You will also be responsible to manage all resource as well as developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports as well as be responsible for developing and motivating team members in support of a variety of projects and customer support functions.
More specifically the candidate will manage and lead a Special Mission Systems technical team supporting the Boeing Phantom Works Special Programs and Capabilities (SP&C) organization under Boeing Defense and Space (BDS) in the Puget Sound corridor. This is a unique opportunity to work on exciting and challenging proprietary programs, from low to mid-range Technical Readiness Level (TRL). In addition, you will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. You will also pursue strategic partnerships and collaborate effectively with peer groups within PW, Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T), and BDS, and external technology service providers. This role will also provide leadership and oversight for all people processes conducted within the report groups, participate in skills management, coach direct reports, and support the pursuit of a learning and professional growth environment for employees and managers. The candidate should have a strong knowledge of air and space advanced mission systems and technologies.
This position is expected to be **100% Onsite**. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
**This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.**An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance Post Start is required.
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electromagnetic Propagation, Antennas, Electro-Optics Systems and Materials, and Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Manages, develops and motivates employees.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Experience with prototyping of large composite structures.
Experience performing engineering and technical development activities in the areas of electromagnetic propagation and scattering, antennas, electro-optic and infrared systems and materials and electronics and electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active US Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access
Project management experience

Pay Rate $117,000 to $209,000
