The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Principal RF Communications Engineer as part of the Communications/Sensors Integrated Product Team for the Wedgetail E-7A program. This engineering role will provide technical leadership across the RF Communications team for upgrades and sustainment activities.

You will be part of a globally distributed team contributing to the development and sustainment of the RF Communication systems with opportunity to support and develop other projects across a range of Boeing Defence Australia programs.

The role can be based in either Brisbane, Adelaide or Newcastle (Williamtown).

Responsibilities:

As a Principal RF Communications Engineer you will have the opportunity to engage in a broad range of engineering activities including:

• Provide technical expertise for the Wedgetail enterprise in RF Communications domain. Support design and sustainment as needed.
• Lead and provide input to the planning and conduct of tasking to achieve the required outcomes.
• Responsible for the overall technical integrity for the Communications systems technical deliverables.
• Integrate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a subject matter expert on proposal and estimate development.
• Conduct activities in accordance with project and engineering plans, and established practices and standards, while continually seeking out opportunities for process improvement.
• As a senior technical leader, provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
• Lead and provide oversight to the development of diverse engineering solutions for complex engineering problems. Develop, review and approve engineering documentation and artefacts.

Experience/Qualifications

The following criteria are essential:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Communications Systems Engineering or similar with a minimum of 10+ years' experience
• Excellent communication skills that enable you to influence outcomes in a team environment.
• Ability to guide and mentor other engineers.
• Ability to gain Engineering Authority in Technical and Design Services domain with focus on DE 1 and CVE delegations.
