The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Airplane Level Engineering Integration (ALEI) organization has a great opportunity for a Senior Electrical Tech Designer (Wiring Installation Design) in Everett, WA.
The ALEI team is looking for a highly motivated individual that will help drive the overall ALEI strategy for the enterprise; lead the team in evaluating new technologies; prototype solutions for cross-bedrock engineering integrations; and identify/prioritize projects for implementation, as related to 2nd Century Enterprise Systems (2CES). (Define and develop future state processes and tools focusing on 3DX and BCA Product Development)
The successful candidate will have experience working in cross-functional domains and integrating new tools, processes, and technologies. Project management experience is vital, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop interfaces to new and developing visualization tools
Develop solutions to digital thread gaps
Develop the scenarios, Use Cases, Test Scripts, and Documentation
Leads, develops, maintains and releases electrical/mechanical drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying Company, industry and governmental standards for multiple customers.
Manages, interprets and develops design requirements. Uses design tools to document and maintain configuration design control.
Manages, creates, develops and maintains complex systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and integrating systems elements.
Validates complex engineering system design and functionality.
Leads the process for product installation designs and part designs ranging from simple to complex.
Coordinates activities and products with multi-functional groups, internal partners and external suppliers. Reviews and assigns work to others.
Works under minimal direction.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
A technical certificate, associate’s degree or higher in electrical or electronics engineering and at least six (6) years of related work experience OR at least eight (8) years of related work experience
5+ years of experience with wire harness, electrical and/or mechanical design.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
5+ years of experience with Computer aided design (CAD) tools are a plus.
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working in a cross functional team environment and have good verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of CATIA V5.
Experience reviewing and conceptualizing new processes.
Experience tracing data from source through the value stream to optimize interfaces
Experience testing new tools and processes
Experience developing Scenarios, Use Cases, Test Scripts, and Documentation
Typical Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
