The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
You will be a part of the software team that develops a broad spectrum of military simulations. The simulations include engineering, engagement, mission, and campaign level analytic war gaming and experimentation. The candidate will also work with a diverse team of skilled and motivated coworkers to collaborate on simulation software solution. The candidate is also self-motivated and has the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, adapt to changing priorities.
Position Responsibilities:
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Software modelling or simulation experience
Experience with distributed simulation, specifically DIS based
Experience with event based simulation
Experience with AFSIM is desired, but not required
Experience with Dev Ops: version control, continuous integration, containers, code analysis tools (Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Clang experience preferred)
Experience with shell scripting languages including Python
Experience working in a Scrum Agile environment
Experience with cross-platform development targeting Linux (RHEL specifically) and Windows
Candidate should have strong computing skills, excellent communication skills, be customer-oriented, positive, flexible, and a strong team player.
Ability to work independently, and provide support to other teams, as dictated by project needs
