The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

You will be a part of the software team that develops a broad spectrum of military simulations. The simulations include engineering, engagement, mission, and campaign level analytic war gaming and experimentation. The candidate will also work with a diverse team of skilled and motivated coworkers to collaborate on simulation software solution.  The candidate is also self-motivated and has the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, adapt to changing priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop new domain specific simulation features to aid Analysts
• Maintain and support internal, Boeing-specific needs of Government provided Analysis framework (AFSIM)
• Work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Coordinate with customers and partners to better understand requirements and use cases
• Work with experimentation teams preparing for customer events to verify functionality
• Support quality efforts of Test Team

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• 5+ years of experience with C++ programming language

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Software modelling or simulation experience

• Experience with distributed simulation, specifically DIS based

• Experience with event based simulation

• Experience with AFSIM is desired, but not required

• Experience with Dev Ops: version control, continuous integration, containers, code analysis tools (Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Clang experience preferred)

• Experience with shell scripting languages including Python

• Experience working in a Scrum Agile environment

• Experience with cross-platform development targeting Linux (RHEL specifically) and Windows

• Candidate should have strong computing skills, excellent communication skills, be customer-oriented, positive, flexible, and a strong team player.

• Ability to work independently, and provide support to other teams, as dictated by project needs

Typical Education/Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
