The Boeing Cloud Data Analytics Platform team builds Boeing's single analytical data plane in Google Cloud Platform that serves as the foundation for data analytics capability of the company. Our cloud-based infrastructure and self-services enable the company to operate in a more agile environment, responding to and anticipating analytics user and developer needs.

We are looking for a passionate and talented Software Engineer to join us! As a platform engineer for the Boeing Cloud Data Analytics Platform, you’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud architectures and help scale our data-driven platform. This is a growing team, meaning you will help define the culture and processes with us as we build out the team together. Position responsibilities may include one or more of the following:

• Develop, integrate, and support a single Cloud platform architecture for analytics products that simplifies and drives the productivity of data scientists, data analysts, machine learning engineers, and analytics solutions developers throughout the company
• Develop, integrate, and support cloud self-service data platform tools and services for data product teams including but not limited to, domain-agnostic data processing/pipeline tools; data API frameworks; business intelligence tools
• Develop, integrate, and support cloud self-service for analytics solution teams, including but not limited to, data preparation, model training, model deployment, and data visualization
• Develop enterprise-wide machine-learning(ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform, enabling compliant management of ML models while making it fast to get an ML model into production
• Design, build and secure highly scalable, fault tolerant, built-as-code data ingress & egress patterns in support of data engineering, machine learning, and analytics initiatives
• Train and guide analytics users and developers on best practices, actively building cloud proficiency across Boeing

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with Python, Java, and/or Golang
• Experience with SQL
• Experience with Linux and Bash
• Experience with Git
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Typically 12+ years related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (eg. bachelor, master, etc) preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications from one or more of the following areas:

DevOps Engineering

• Experience deploying applications in a production environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud platform
• Experience writing Kubernetes manifests and/or Helm charts
• Experience building Docker containers
• Experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Circle CI, Argo CD, etc)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code patterns (preferably using Terraform)

Software Engineering

• Experience developing web applications and APIs with popular frameworks

Data Engineering

• Experience developing both batch and stream data pipelines with Apache Beam or Google DataFlow, Apache Kafka or Google Pub/Sub, and/or equivalents
• Experience developing orchestration pipelines with Apache Airflow / Google Cloud Composer

Data Security

• Experience using PBAC/RBAC/ABAC approaches with data tagging, and Google Cloud security capabilities like DLP, IAM, Data Catalog, etc.
• Experience with concepts like Zero Trust & DevSecOps
• Experience managing access, defining organizational structure/policies, and analyzing logs
• Experience federating Google Cloud IAM from Active Directory
• Experience developing policy as code (preferred exposure to OPA – Open Policy Agent)

ML Engineering

• Experience developing ML training and serving pipelines using Dataiku, Kubeflow, MLFlow, TFX, and/or cloud ML platforms, or any equivalents

Data Science

• Experience creating AI models using popular software libraries
• Expertise in one or more ML frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit Learn, etc.

Collaboration & Pairing

• Experience training platform users to adopt common tools, automation and frameworks
