The Boeing Company is looking for a Strategy Development Specialist based out of **Arlington, Virginia.**
The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Strategy function is responsible for overall strategy development and planning for the approximately $26B defense and security business within The Boeing Company. As a an analyst on this team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Aerospace and Defense industry and to guide the strategic development for one of the most successful defense and security companies in the world.
The BDS Strategy team has three major functions: Market Intelligence, Strategic Analysis, Integration and Execution and Market Development. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn more about the scope and opening specifics during the interview. The selected candidate will be a member of a team of strategy analysts within the Boeing Arlington team reporting to the Senior Manager of International Government & Defense Strategy.
Partnering with Boeing's global subsidiaries to develop strategic plans, guiding BDS global product sales' campaign strategies, interfacing with Boeing sustainment strategy teams, collaborating with Boeing International to develop country specific strategies, and providing timely market research, geopolitical trend analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and ad hoc reports to inform BDS business development courses of action
Coordinating across the defense business' divisions to drive decision alignment, communicating Boeing strategies to achieve global growth, innovation and productivity; driving & informing senior leadership decision making on key strategic imperatives
Working individually and within project teams composed of fellow strategy personnel, functional / technical experts and business unit representatives focused on the most important opportunities and issues to BDS globally
Defending strategic assumptions and analysis through critical reviews and building creative business models / cases for new concepts, markets and business ideas
Deriving and generating insights from quantitative and qualitative data to explain implications to the BDS strategy and to BDS global opportunities
Drawing business-relevant insights that inform leadership decision-making
Developing solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with enterprise strategic objectives, which leverage insights from quantitative and qualitative data to explain implications on business environment and strategy
Researching and synthesizing market and competitive intelligence across a variety of defense market segments to obtain insights and drive decisions
Collaborating with and cultivating key relationships with respective divisional strategy analysts, business unit and division leadership, and key functional counterparts in business development, engineering, and finance
**This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.**
**This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.**
**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**
2+ years of experience performing strategy work (e.g. market or competitive research and analysis, strategy development, and facilitating strategic decisions)
2+ years of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; and developing conclusions
Experience in a role that required analytical, communication and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Knowledge of the defense-related technologies, industry markets, and competitive landscape.
Strong business acumen and understanding of business case principles
Ability to collaborate and cultivate strong relationships with peers and executive leadership
Experience in Consulting, Strategy, and/or Business Planning
Experience in developing long-term strategies
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or business-related field Business (i.e. Finance, International Marketing, Operations Management, Economics, and/or Political Science / International Relations)
Experience being a strategic business partner supporting a leadership team
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
