The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, V-22 Program is seeking an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 3) to join the Mechanical Structural Engineering team.
Perform analysis such as durability and damage tolerance (DaDT) analyses, static and fatigue analysis, and material and structural trade studies.
Perform analysis using tools such as PATRAN and NASTRAN
Perform Finite Element Analysis and have the ability to perform Finite Element Modeling
Analyze and develop solutions for structural repair manuals directly in partnership with the Customer
Plan and execute tasks within constraints imposed by internal and external customer schedules
Develop, integrate, and document analysis results, and be able to review and approve results
Verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product life-cycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
Provide engineering analysis and consultation.
Coordinate and communicate with various levels of management including internal and external customers.
Works under specific direction of a lead engineer.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
3 or more years of experience working with structural analysis of composite and metal structure.
Experience working with structural sizing, and finite element models/simulations using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc.
1 or more years of experience with structural repairs in the field and in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1 or more years of experience in structural testing, testing standards (ASTM), test planning, and advanced data analysis methods.
Experience effectively communicating with cross functional teams.
Experience with design and analysis of high modulus composites.
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
