What You'll Do
POSITION SUMMARY:
BCG Gamma is seeking an Associate Director - Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on a range of different software and product disciplines. The position will involve taking these skills and applying them to some of the most exciting and massive data and analytics problems across multiple industries. We are looking for leaders to join the engineering effort in our teams in our European hubs, building large scale analytics products.
You will be bridging the gap between business and engineering, and functioning with deep expertise in both worlds. As a strong engineering leader and an expert in building complex systems, you will be responsible for transforming how we use technology to increase the performance of our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bring bleeding edge data science models into production together with a highly multi-disciplinary team of scientist, engineers, partners, product managers and subject domain experts
- Build scalable analytics software platforms and products
- Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software
- Guide non-technical teams and consultants in understanding analytics at scale, infrastructure as code and best practices for robust software development
- Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design
- Provide thought leadership to software design and solutions
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science (or in a highly related area)
- 9+ years of experience in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and in software development environment
- Previous consulting experience and/or strong leadership positions
- Excellent communication skills
- Exposure to analytics applications or experience building analytics tools
- Proven ability to deploy complex analytics systems and operate them at scale
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code principles
- Analytic reasoning and complex problem solving involving mathematical programming and big data problems
- Management/team lead experience, experience working with global and remote teams
- Experience guiding teams in addressing the technical and delivery challenges
- Experience working directly with the business to translate business requirements into product capabilities
