We are seeking exceptional candidates with experience and a passion for business development in the context of software and data products to fill our Business Development Lead position that sits within our BCG Omnia business unit. BCG Omnia is responsible for the full lifecycle of BCG proprietary data and software assets, from initial business case to roadmap delivery, launch, and ongoing support operations and works closely with the BCG Practice Areas and Commercial Programs.
The Business Development Lead will serve to drive continued commercial development and positive revenue impact through close partnership with the Commercial Program and PA Leaders as well as other leaders within Omnia. You will continuously enhance our offerings, Go-to-market and commercialization capabilities with tangible and measurable impact on the top line. In particular you will
- Support the development and execution of Go-to-market plan with Stakeholders
- Identify key initiatives and commercial opportunities, manage their execution, and monitor lead flow
- Actively pursue leads and create additional opportunities
- Optimize sales processes and upskill / train the team
- Collaborate with commercial offering and product sponsors to form new product offerings & enhance existing
- Organize networks with Experts from Consulting Cohort involved in delivery and commercialization (e.g. Product cadre)
- Collect and aggregate feedback, convert in actionable measures and ensure implementation
This will be in very close collaboration with relevant Stakeholders and teams. In addition, you might also support the delivery team and do hands-on delivery of our products.Successful candidates will feel comfortable operating in BCG's matrix organization, have strong relationship and project management skills, the aptitude to see and hold the big picture, yet also manage the details. Comfort with ambiguity, evolving priorities and eagerness to lean in to support team/projects when needed, are also pre-requisites. In particular, successful candidates will show the following abilities
- Self-starting with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive, service mentality and ability to work both autonomously and in a multinational team
- Orchestrate complex agendas, align senior leadership, prioritizing activities and working with others to get things done (in a distributed organization)
- Manage and execute projects efficiently; provide hands-on support to multiple activities, often requiring strong consulting skills (slide writing, effective communication, some analytics)
- Develop and maintain deep and productive relationships across a multi-stakeholder organization
- Collaborate and communicate with various teams and individuals, with different level of seniority and different backgrounds; be able to communicate with senior leaders and be a connection point for the community
- Work with BCG Partners/CCOs and Stakeholders to identify potential opportunities, drive increased sales & product adoption, form new product offerings & enhance existing
Ability to solve problems, in particular analyzing and optimizing processes, e.g. sales and Go-to-market processes
Bachelors degree, preferably in business management, natural science, engineering or technology-related fields, with high academic achievement required
- 5 years of relevant experience in business development, business analytics, software management/support, and/or 3 years consulting experience
- Previous BCG experience a significant plus
- Proficiency with the English language; strong written and verbal communication in a business context
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, time management and organizational skills to drive multiple projects and initiatives at a time
- Entrepreneurial mindset, and attitude to proactively come up with fresh and disruptive ideas, challenging the Status Quo
- Track record of successfully managed projects with tangible impact
