We are seeking exceptional candidates with experience and passion to fill a Data Business Manager position for BCG Omnia. This global business is an integral part of BCG's strategy to develop new digital client service offerings in order to deliver value and sustained impact. BCG Omnia is responsible for full-life cycle of BCG proprietary data and software assets, from initial business case to roadmap delivery, launch, and ongoing support operations. All of BCG's core product capabilities are housed within BCG Omnia including product management, design, development, support and data analytics experts who work in deep collaboration with BCG practice areas, clients and consulting teams. We are seeking a strong candidate with experience and passion to work with the Technology Advantage (TA) practice. BCG's TA practice focuses on helping clients deliver competitive advantage and business superior performance through the use of data, technology and digital. TA is the fastest growing practice at BCG and at the heart of the strategic impact we have with our clients. In this role, you will join as a Data Business Manager and manage the Omnia TA data product portfolio with overall accountability and oversight of Omnia activities as well as the team. This includes business development, stakeholder relationship management, functional & line management of Omnia team and taking broader ownership of deliverables.
You will leverage both internal and external resources, including your own expertise and industry experience to further develop and enhance the product portfolio. The ideal candidate has experience in more than one technology/digital topics, including agile transformation, digital innovation, customer journeys, tech enabled business transformation, and next generation technology stacks obtained either through working in industry or at a consulting company.
You have a high aptitude for strategic thinking, thought leadership, experience in product development and have expert knowledge in digital and technology topics.
Building commercial business & providing strategic oversight
- Effectively partner with the TA stakeholders and translate BCG proprietary IP needs into product strategy
- Creating long term vision and plans for solutions including multi-year financial projections and investment plans, in close partnership with TA stakeholders
- Ensuring that the efforts in the product portfolio are aligned with structures, processes and models applied across the portfolio of the Omnia TA Data Products
- Supporting product growth by effectively managing relationships with senior stakeholders
Building product awareness via live/virtual workshops, trainings, and webinars (in partnership with product management)
Leading & driving go-to-market
- Accelerating commercialization in partnership with BCG's TA Practice's client and knowledge teams - supporting product adoption & client success
- Engaging with client teams and deploying data assets to support proposal creation, client pitches, and/or to support case engagements
- Manage the delivery of the Omnia TA product portfolio to ensure high quality deliverables with insightful and quantifiable conclusions to help clients to make decisions and take actions over identified opportunities
Managing business to meet short-term and long-term strategic objectives
- Managing demanding internal and external stakeholders in a positive, service-oriented way, and able to develop trust quickly, building solid, mutually respectful relationships
- Thriving in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm
- Delivering against KPIs like BCG business impact, product monetization revenues and budgets
Tracking budget and responsible for data assets' operational and financial performance
Leading the team
- Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic often virtual, proficient in Agile ways of working
- Co-ordinating the efforts of individuals working on the product portfolio.
- Acting as a functional manager for a team of analysts and experts, disseminating work for the team and self. Drive goal setting, performance evaluation, career tracking, and long-term professional development for the team members.
Education and experience:
- Bachelors' or Master's degree with demonstrated high academic achievement, preferably in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics or related fields
- 10 years of relevant industry experience (or 5 of strategic consulting).
- Good understanding of technology enabled business transformation, digital innovation, IT/Tech transformation, and application and technology stacks adopted by leading players in different industries
- Specific experience in data curation, benchmarking, building simulation models of driver-based assessments, operating/developing diagnostic tools, will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in management of an application and/or IT/Tech operating models
Experience with agile environments as well as IT project management and IT processes
