What You'll Do
WHAT WE NEED
BCG is looking for an Expert Associate Director to partner with clients to improve their service levels and productivity in distribution and logistics topics, which can include: warehouse layout, lean operations in warehousing, automation, transportation sourcing, and mode optimization. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in supply chain management, particularly in distribution and logistics.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Expert Associate Director, you will apply your deep expertise in supply chain management to generate value for our clients while building and contributing to BCG's intellectual capital. In this role, you will lead teams and clients on supply chain performance improvements. You will also provide input to case teams and clients on an individual contributor basis, support the business development process, and participate in developing intellectual property (publishing articles, staying abreast of digital trends in logistics, etc).
The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG's ability to successfully meet our clients' demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working alongside our traditional and specialty consultants to bring the 'best of BCG' to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
The ideal candidate possesses:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain operations with a focus on distribution and logistics
- At least 2 of these years should be in the management consulting space
- Other acceptable experience to complement past consulting experience can include work on the shipper or 3PL/carrier side
The candidate should be familiar and conversant in all of the below topics, with distinctive expertise and depth in several:
Warehouse layout and flow optimization
- Lean warehousing and operational excellence in distribution
- Transportation management
- Transportation and logistics sourcing
- eCommerce fulfillment
- Outsourcing of distribution and logistics activities from a shipper to a 3PL
- Benchmarking warehouse operations
- Transportation mode mix optimization
- Warehouse management systems
- Transportation management systems
Digital trends in supply chain with a focus on distribution and logistics
Established network with distribution and logistics industry participants
- A track record of significant IP development, who are sought out as trusted advisors by senior executives, drive business development, and develop integrated solutions.
