BCG's Public Sector practice helps governments and agencies in their efforts to maximize public- policy outcomes. Our work with government clients offers unique opportunities to shape the future of public sector reform across the world. We work with some of the most senior and influential people in government all over the world. The global Public Sector Practice was established in September 2009 so it is one of BCG's newest and fastest growing practices. Although the Public Sector is an industry practice area, our value proposition to public sector clients draws deeply on capabilities right across our functional and industry practices - such as energy, health care, consumer (transport), organisation, corporate development (privatisation), operations and digital business models (Digital Ventures).
What You'll Do
As a Project Leader within BCG's Public Sector Practice, you will act as a key topic expert of our practice working alongside some of the world's top minds in industry - shaping digital initiatives for our Public Sector clients. You will collaborate on challenging projects with team members from many backgrounds, advising our clients on a variety of topics, including:
- Digital strategy and digital tranformation: Setting the digital ambition, identifying digital opportunities, and dening a roadmap for successful execution for clients within the Public Sector in order to achieve superior efficiency, growth, and organizational capability.
- While contributing to client cases, workshops and proposals you will occasionally travel to serve our Public Sector clients onsite during staffing assignments to understand our client requirements, and design / develop solutions.
You will lead project teams comprised of consultants and associate consultants enabling them to find the right approach, motivate them to deliver on time and to achieve long-term impact for our clients as well as support our growth targets for the Public Sector topics. The focus of this role will be on 1) bringing expert level credibility to our cases and business development opportunities; and 2) continuing to build our Public Sector practice as part of the global topic leadership team.
You will drive client interactions ensuring a constructive collaboration with our stakeholders, advising them on key strategic business issues, producing leading-edge business models, and addressing specific problems and opportunities. You will also play a key role in high-level client relationships and act as a content lead for proposals and other business development activities
In this role you will be expected to:
- You will advise clients on executive level supporting them to improve or transform their Strategy and achieve excellence in what they do.
- Work jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on site.
- Be part of our business development efforts: client meetings, industry conferences etc.
Provide mentorship and support to consultants ensuring continuous development.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
- 7+ years of experience working with a leading strategy consulting rm (focused on Public Sector and digital initiatives).
- 3-4 years leading/playing core role in driving projects - owning the project process, content and day-today client interactions
- Driving the content development, either directly or by providing guidance to the consulting team.
- Consulting mind-set: hypothesis-led problem solving, framing and communicating complex ideas, thinking strategically
