About the Role:

The Quality Build Technician will perform a variety of moderately complex tasks to ensure product complaints are processed, reported and trended timely and accurately. Working under close to moderate supervision, performs the setup of equipment, fixtures, components, cables, etc. for test. Performs all mechanical disassembly necessary for failure analysis. Performs hand setups for AC and digital tests, recognizes failures and setup problems, and determines need for appropriate verification. Operates test equipment including samplers, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and specialized test fixtures. No instructions are needed on routine work, and general instructions are given on new lines of work or special assignments.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Receive, verify, and perform initial root-cause investigation testing on returned product complaints using detailed troubleshooting skills at system assembly levels.
• Complete all information of Product Investigation record in GCMS complaint database.
• Ensure product traceability for all products received and analyzed.
• Interacts with other departments (R&D, MFG) when additional information is required to complete investigation.
• Follow-up with CMC to ensure product return or to obtain additional information as needed.
• Forward complaints for approval after ensuring all necessary analysis and investigation information is complete.
• Maintain investigation equipment calibration in Capital Equipment Manufacturing and Repair Operations.
• Follow and assist in maintaining and updating return product test procedures and has detailed knowledge of how instructions and drawings are used.
• Assess and suggest improvements on existing complaint handling process procedures to improve product reliability by working with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and attending meetings as required. .
• Supports Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and R&D with the testing of new products as required.
• Train other Technicians, and other internal and external customers as required.
• Provides support for Capital Equipment Manufacturing, Repair Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and any other internal customer as required.
• Performs and explains the testing of products during a tour, inspection or audit.
• Learns process to disposition non-conforming material by utilizing quality tools and by developing knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.

What We’re Looking For In You:

Minimum Qualifications

• AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 1+ years of related experience
• Experience diagnosing problems using basic troubleshooting skills on wide variety of products per test specifications.
• Understand and follow test processes and work instructions with application to general product knowledge and operation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienced with manufacturing and/or repair of medical device capital equipment
• Ability to interpret design sketches of complex and/or advanced electronic units
• Setting up, calibrating, and modification of complex test apparatus and/or devising complex test equipment and circuitry
• Knowledge of electronic layouts, components and circuitry assembly procedures
• Prior demonstration and commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to Quality System requirements in a regulated medical device environment.
• Broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices in the field of electronics, including both hardware and software
• Proficient in Technical Writing Aspects and ability to explain documentation
