About the Role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated technician to work in our component qualification lab. This technician works under limited supervision assisting supplier engineers, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.

At Boston Scientific, our products and technologies are used to diagnose or treat a wide range of medical conditions. We continue to innovate in key areas and are extending our innovations into new geographies and high-growth adjacency markets There are many NPD (New Product Development) projects that the qualification lab supports spanning multiple divisions of Boston Scientific. In addition to NPD support, the daily sustaining work involved managing all lab equipment, supporting continuous improvement activities, and supporting component investigations. This Tech will partner with supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, and supplier quality.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical, electrical or optical areas.
• Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.
• Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.
• Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
• Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports
• Reviews and develops processing or manufacturing instructions.
• Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.
• May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance allegations.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

• AA degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 1+ years’ experience
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings and test procedures
• Computer use experience (Office 365)
• Individual must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with medical device business and quality systems and processes
• Experience with PRIMO and equipment ownership
• Experience with reflow ovens
• Experience working with electronics prototyping including soldering and assembly
• Experience working with computer interfaces such as USB/Serial Port communication
