Purpose Statement
This Product Manager has direct global product line responsibility for the Coronary Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) disposables, with a focus on downstream marketing and commercialization. This role is responsible for launching products, data releases, and developing multi-channel campaigns to drive growth for the PCI Guidance business. This individual will also monitor competitive activity, manage existing products, track marketing programs against goals, develop and maintain product forecast, and support sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads global commercial strategy for IVUS disposables and effectively collaborates with regional partners and drives alignment
- Develops and implements strategies and tactics for product launches and data releases and ongoing product continuation to ensure products are properly positioned and that brochures, sales sheets and supporting materials will launch products successfully and stimulate sales.
- Designs strategies to maximize the profitability of product lines by collaborating with assigned staff, conducting market research and performing financial analyses.
- Contributes toward the development of an annual departmental budget by forecasting future needs, utilizing marketing objectives and budget guidelines.
- Proposes the allocation of resources to assist in managing products' life cycle from concept through retirement by assessing needs and objectives.
- Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
- Develops recommendations on appropriate prices for new products and on pricing and positioning strategies.
- Represents the company at tradeshows, customer events, and by visiting accounts in order to represent solicit feedback on company products and services.
- Organizes physician symposia by working with assigned staff in commissioning doctors to participate and working with internal departments to promote and schedule events.
- Establish strong relationships with cross-functional partners (R&D, PMO, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.)
- Evaluates key business trends through market research, clinical trials, sales team and interaction with key customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, Science, Healthcare/Biomedical strongly preferred)
- Advanced degree (Masters, MBA) strongly preferred
- 5+ years of work experience in product marketing, preferably within medical 5+ years prior product management, strategic marketing experience in medical-related field required
- Prior experience in interventional cardiology and intravascular imaging is a plus
- Entrepreneurial spirit that can operate independently with little direction
- Drive global alignment on key areas of product and marketing strategies
- KOL management experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and partner with internal/external stakeholders
- Sales experience a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel up to 30%
