Technical Writer II - Interventional Cardiology
About the role:
This position will support projects within the Interventional Cardiology division at Boston Scientific. In this role, you will work with a high-performance cross-functional development team to establish and maintain the Design History File required to bring novel technologies to commercialization. The Technical Writer will draft, revise, organize, plan, summarize, edit, and proofread technical engineering documents and maintain project records. The Technical Writer will also work to bring clarity and consistency to documents through accurate and concise writing and effective use of document format.
Key responsibilities include:
- Co-author or contribute to the creation and revision of engineering deliverables.
- Plan documents and create the draft of documents for the engineer or team.
- Interface cross-functionally within the product development team to acquire source material for documents and to develop understanding of the products and processes.
- Apply corporate and regulatory documentation requirements.
- Organize raw data into usable tables.
- Clearly and correctly state and summarize technical information and conclusions in documents.
- Make suggestions or corrections to make a document clearer and more concise.
- Initiate document Change Notices. Act as an SME for the document management system.
- Aid the team in preparing for and documenting major milestone reviews.
- Manage the project records during development. Own the Design History File for the project.
- Utilize requirements management software to create, edit the project DHF.
- Manage, organize, and communicate project information and project activities.
- Provide work direction, mentor, and train less experienced writers and supported groups.
What we’re looking for in you:
Minimal qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, degree in technical writing or related technical field such as engineering, or biology preferred
- 2-4 years of technical writing experience
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work both in collaboration with others on a project team and independently on tasks.
- Attention to detail
- Able to work quickly and efficiently on documents and tasks while still maintaining high quality in work
- Proactive work habits and assertiveness in creating and owning documents
- Aptitude to understand engineering and other technical information
- Project management and time management skills
- Problem solving skills and an ability to respond and adapt to change
Preferred qualifications:
- Exposure to or experience with Cockpit or other requirements management software
- Exposure to or experience with Windchill or other documentation control systems
- Exposure to Medical Device industry
