Commercial Credit Risk & Analytics (CR&A) and Market & Liquidity Risk Oversight (MLRO) is seeking a Director-level Chief of Staff to join the team. The Chief of Staff will provide integral support to Capital One’s Chief Commercial Credit Officer in implementing business strategy across the entire organization. This will be achieved through developing and maintaining business routines, partnering with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to establish key imperatives for the lines of business (LOBs) and ensuring that the business strategy is developed and communicated across each LOB, while aligning to the overall Commercial Banking strategy and Market & Liquidity Risk Oversight strategy.
Responsibilities:
Define and execute leadership routines to support the organization, including, but not limited to administration of SLT meetings, All Hands meetings, Team Visits, and Leadership communications
Manage general workflow and day-to-day activities in support of organizational goals
Support strategic planning, integration management, budget and headcount in partnership with Finance, HR and SLT aligning business unit activities to Commercial and Risk Management financial objectives
Partner with HR to drive strategic talent efforts related to transforming business, which includes: performance management, professional development and culture and engagement initiatives
Direct associate engagement agenda, including but not limited to: associate communications, credit and data training initiatives, recognition and rewards programs
Drive horizontal and business critical efforts, including: Return to office, coordination with Workplace Solutions and other Chief of Staff teams on office decisions, and planning efforts with other key business partners
Perform ad-hoc market & portfolio data analysis to support Chief Commercial Credit Officer and the SLT; examples include: mid-year and year-end market reviews, CPC prep, Recession Readiness, disaggregating macroeconomic trends reports, contributions to DCC slides
Perform operational analysis, including Risk Management MBR prep, SLT scorecards, and Credit Actions reporting
Oversee change management related to Strategy, HR, Finance, Communications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 3 years of analytical experience
At least 5 years of experience consulting with senior executives or strategy building
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in financial services
At least 8 years of business analysis experience
Proactive self-starter, highly organized and excels in creating structure and order
Experience in building relationships, influencing, and driving actions with a wide range of associates and leaders across levels
Exceptional executive-facing verbal and written communication skills
Creative and broad problem solver, with ability to thrive in a fast-paced business while balancing business priorities
Analytically rigorous and intellectually curious
