The Lead, Software Engineer will be the most senior engineer inside of the team. In this role, you will be expected to be an individual contributor as well as provide tech leadership across the team. You will work on complex coding problems, delivering sophisticated applications to the org. You will also play a critical role in the team’s delivery, ensuring the delivery for our most complex applications. You should help to guide the team through blockers, providing technical guidance on features and stepping in for support where timelines begin to lag. You should also provide direction and design thinking for our features. You will work closely with your leadership and with product to help design, prioritize, and story board features. You should be researching and learning new technologies and enterprise tooling to suggest and implement inside of the team. Your role will encompass a strong guidance and influence for the entire Software Development Life Cycle for RExit applications.
Develop complex applications in both Java and Python languages
Develop and support applications delivering ETL processes
Develop and support complex AWS infrastructure delivering applications
Help to ensure a well-managed posture across RExit, identifying and resolving application vulnerabilities, delivering on Enterprise Tech Backlog
Advise and enhance data strategy inside Customer Resiliency employing data engineering best practices
Serve as a technical lead inside of team RExit, providing support and ensuring timely delivery of features
Work closely with product and with tech leaders to help design and advise features
Work closely within the team to help prioritize and storyboard features
At least 6 years experience in software development (internship experience does not apply)
At least 2 years experience in AWS/Cloud Infrastructure
At least 6 years in Data Engineering
At least 2 years of experience with Kafka
8+ years experience in software development

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City: $197,400 - $225,300 for Lead Software EngineerLocation is San Francisco, California: $209,200 - $238,700 for Lead Software EngineerRemote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $167,400 - $191,000 for Lead Software Engineer
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
