Cyber Risk and Analysis associates are highly motivated Risk and Technology professionals that operate within a highly collaborative team environment to deliver value-added risk management services to our Business and Technology partners. You will have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Senior Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. The demands and visibility of this position require a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and deep subject matter expertise to effectively analyze the cyber and technology risks associated with technology initiatives. Successful candidates will have analytic skills and experience conducting technology and/or organizational risk assessments, a deep understanding of current cyber threats and associated mitigations, and the communication skills to advise and influence stakeholders to reach consensus.
As a Manager of Cyber Risk and Analysis in Capital One’s Enterprise Services (ES) Risk Office (ES Risk, first line of defense), you will play a key role in managing, overseeing, and enhancing the end-to-end execution of targeted risk assessments for organizational material technology change initiatives. This includes analyzing technology initiatives to identify cybersecurity and technology risks to help ensure our Company remains well-managed and avoids unnecessary risk. You will collaborate closely with associates across all Lines of Defense, Lines of Business, Cyber, and other risk management teams to perform and support the work related to further maturing risk management practices.
The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with expertise in technology and cybersecurity domains that has the ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to gain consensus, communicate effectively in a cross-functional organization, and facilitate constructive problem-solving to achieve objectives and remove roadblocks.
Responsibilities:
Drive and coordinate work related to Capital One’s cybersecurity program enhancement efforts, working with the first line of defense Technology and Cyber teams, Lines of Business, and second line of defense risk management teams, to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups.
Help to enhance Integrated and Cyber Governance Risk Management processes across Capital One by providing oversight and coordination with other risk management activities across the company.
Manage and oversee the execution of targeted risk assessments for technology and cybersecurity change-driven initiatives, including oversight of third party resources.
Analyze information to proactively identify risks, trends, and process improvements; support reporting on risk topics to Management.
Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to our efforts.
Assist and drive project and program delivery, including project and process management, reporting, engagement in senior leadership meetings, drafting and reviewing materials for Senior Management and the Board of Directors, and other governance activities.
Participate in risk and other Management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and project / program management practices.
Support direction, manage expectations, and lead, as appropriate, cross-functional teams through various initiatives.
Support interactions with Internal Audit and Regulatory agencies related to our work, as applicable.
Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 4 years of experience in information security or technology risk management
At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients
At least 3 years of project or program management experience
At least 2 years of experience developing, evaluating, and/or implementing information security or technology controls
At least 2 years of experience with information security, technology practices, standards or procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 7 years of experience in information security or technology risk management
At least 5 years of project management experience leading cross functional projects and programs
At least 4 years of experience with analysis of information security or technology threats and risks
At least 4 years of experience in information security or technology risk identification and assessments associated with new or change-driven initiatives
Background in the financial services industry
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City: $160,200 - $182,800 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
