    As a Risk Manager on Capital One's Card Risk Team, you will be responsible for working with business partners and risk colleagues to identify and manage existing and potential risks to the Card Partnerships Portfolio.  Risk Managers at Capital One are the first line of defense to ensure our Company remains well-managed and profitable.

    Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. These skills allow the Risk Manager to gain insights, and act as a change agent to influence their business partners. As Capital One evolves to meet the ever changing technology landscape, so do our Risk Managers. A successful Risk Manager operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business they support, applicable laws / regulations and good Risk Management practices. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept. Risk Managers have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to appropriately mitigate risks within the Card business.

    The specific Risk Manager role that is open is a Risk Manager leading our horizontal partnerships risk reporting and finding validation tower. The role involves managing the creation of critical risk reporting, as well as validation for business owned findings. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the main point of contact and own several various horizontal reports within Partnerships Card Risk, including the preparation, quality assurance and publication

    • In creating the partnerships reporting, collaborate with several teams across the partnership organization and manage timelines to produce the final reporting

    • Enable a strong culture of reporting management that’s adaptable to a changing environment

    • Collaborate with the business to assist in finding remediation plans. Once established, manage the remediation to the deadlines, escalating to senior management as appropriate

    • Provide the appropriate risk office review and pressure of finding remediation plans to ensure completeness and sustainability 

    • Present results, findings, risks and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders

    • Actively seek and report on opportunities to strengthen processes via automation

    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key partners across the enterprise and within partnerships 

    • Contribute to and assist in implement a strategic vision for the team

    • Create and track progress against metrics and KPIs

    • Stay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to the Card business

    Basic Qualifications:

    • At least 3 years of experience in Process Management or Project Management

    • At least 1 year of reporting experience

    • At least 1 year of experience in analysis or analytics

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • 5+ years of risk management experience

    • 3+ years of experience in Analysis

    • 3+ years of Audit and exam experience

    • 3+ years of experience in performing risk and control assessments, control testing, or assessments against industry risk frameworks

    • Agile or Design Thinking experience

    • Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)

    • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project management certification
