The Strategy Group at Capital One engages in a discrete number of ultra-high impact issues that drive the performance of the company forward. Projects focus primarily on formulating enduring and profitable growth and value enhancement strategies and then working within the business to ensure the impact happens. Senior strategy staff sit directly on the most senior Line of Business (LOB) management teams and have dotted line reporting to LOB heads.
The Strategic Intelligence team within Strategy leverages consumer, market, and associate data, research, and analysis to provide company leadership with insights, advice and strategic communications.
Summary:
The Sr Associate Strategist will work collaboratively with Strategy team members as well as business teams in developing communications, analysis, and research in support of a Strategic Intelligence engagement or specific business need.
Responsibilities:
Provide analysis, communication, and execution in support of enterprise deliverables such as the company’s Strategic Plan, Annual Report, Proxy, etc.
Analytical support on special projects related to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee (some past projects include ESG, Future of Work, etc.)
Strategy rollout support, including content development in partnership with Strategy and business partners
Development of communications with and on behalf of senior leadership
Provide recurring or ad hoc research and partnership with business and staff partners
Communicate analysis and relevant business implications to senior leadership
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 2 years of experience in Business Analysis, Strategy, Consulting, Communications or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in communications preferred
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of analytical rigor and attention to detail
Interest in the banking industry and the United States economy
Effective judgment and problem-solving skills
Team player with a positive attitude
Inquisitive with a passion to figure stuff out and drive change
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a cross functional team
Experience conveying information in a clear and compelling manner; effectively communicating with senior leadership
Experience identifying and solving problems independently in a constantly changing environment
