GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is an excellent career opportunity for a CAD Designer with an understanding of programming logic and an interest in process improvement and product development located at the Residential Product Design Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The ideal candidate will work in a team environment with limited supervision, collaborate with project designers and Engineers to solicit ideas for process automation, and develop programmatic solutions for process improvement within the CAD environment. The candidate will be familiar with mechanical design processes and industry standards, and engineering drawing practices.

The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to ad hoc assignments as needed.
Develop, test, and implement programmatic solutions, to automate CAD modeling and documentation processes using Sigmaxim Smart Assembly integrated development environment.
Lead brainstorming and requirements gathering events.
Document standard work procedures for modeling and documentation processes.
Contribute to the development of design solutions for HVAC products using PTC Creo Parametric.
Delegate and oversee the creation of engineering documentation for new product releases (drawings, bills of material, and specifications).
May require periodic communication with team members in India during non-standard work hours.
Comply with International Trade Compliance requirements.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Works autonomously with limited supervision on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.
Makes a significant contribution to their team by applying their knowledge of the discipline.
Develop test and implementation plans for process enhancements
Develop and deliver training plans for affected processes
TYPICAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technology field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of three years of experience in a related discipline.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Solid understanding of programming logic
3-D CAD Solid Modeling Experience
Experience with PTC Creo Elements is beneficial
Understanding and experience with industry-standard documentation practices
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
An understanding of Finite Element Analysis is helpful
