Pre-Sales Engineer: Video & Transmission, Intrusion, Access Control and Integration

Location:  Head Office Milton Keynes, UK

A position for a dynamic individual eager to learn and apply past technical experience and skills to grow with the UK and Ireland Security Sales Teams.

Reporting to the UK Sales Manager the Pre-Sales System Engineer will provide pre-sales technical and design support, and proposal development.  In addition, he/she will provide post-sales technical and product support as necessary.  Expected to undergo intensive on-the-job and specialized product training to supplement past knowledge in the areas of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and alarm as well as integrated security solutions.

In depth product support of intrusion, access control and integration software and signaling solutions is required to enable support and assistance to the Intrusion Pre-Sales Engineer.

Develops multi-discipline capabilities with business partners, distributors, consultants, specifiers and end users across the entire UK region.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Recommend and advise on design and technical calculations of Aritech video and transmission solutions that meet/exceed customer needs.
  • Recommend and advise on design and technical calculations of Aritech intrusion and access control, solutions that meet/exceed customer needs.
  • Maintain and update UK and Ireland pricelists.
  • Publish new products on UK and Ireland Carrier websites.
  • Product announcements - NPD / EOL / ‘Did-You Know’ articles – for UK and Ireland
  • Customer roadshows – building, demonstrating Aritech product solutions.
  • Support Customer Service Team, customers, and colleagues with queries on current and obsolete products.
  • Support both UK and Ireland Sales Teams in UK Aritech product sales.
  • Participate and demonstrate Aritech products in customer visits and technical discussions to ensure Aritech products meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Advise on network design and bandwidth requirements and the correct solution from the Aritech Video and Transmission solution.
  • Liaise closely with sales team & product management to develop region-specific solutions
  • Internal product training and competitive comparisons of Aritech product solutions to UK and Ireland Commercial Sales Teams and Customer Services and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Organize and conduct customer technical training jointly with the Commercial Teams.
  • Deliver product overviews and lead pre-sales presentations to clients & consultants.
  • Create own presentations and update as needed.
  • Translation of A&E Specification new features for each firmware release.
  • Linked-In activities for Video and Transmission products plus intrusion, access control and software as necessary.
  • Assist Post Sales Technical Support with technical issues as necessary.
  • On board ‘Ultrasync’ cloud customers as required.
  • Training course creation and updating (for Engineer training sessions).
  • Conducting Engineer training sessions.
  • Testing new firmware and software releases and updating training course content.
  • Assist Post Sales Technical Support with Beta testing of new products.
  • Arranging for key customers to Beta test new products and collating responses for Aritech Product Management Team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 5 years prior related experience with demonstrated abilities in some of the key areas of the job
  • Proven technical & design skills; enjoys multiple assignments or projects in a wide range of product applications
  • Computer proficiency in all common business and engineering applications
  • Multi-national company experience; able to work successfully and productively in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Security industry experience in Electronic Security (CCTV, Access and Intrusion detection & alarm etc.)
  • Proficient in video and transmission.
