ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform under the general direction and supervision of the Production Manager. This candidate will assign tasks, train employees and assure quality and productivity within required standards and well known procedures. Recommend employee administrative actions, changes in methods, techniques and other matters of a similar complexity. Looking for solutions to automate production processes.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage and supervise team members on day-to-day production goals, activities, deadlines, quality, output and performance.
Implement and continuously review/update quality procedures and processes according to engineering specifications and ISO standards.
Organize and implement testing procedures based upon engineering criteria provided, developing new tests as needed.
Maximize the effectiveness of the processes through continuous improvement in methods and workflow, encouraging participation from all team members in lean processes associated with the Carrier Excellence process.
Work with Engineers and look for automation solutions for production (manufacturing) processes in order to improve productivity and reduce labor cost.
Anticipate and solve operational challenges, provide reports to the Operations Manager and ensure the metrics are updated.
Responsible for candidate selection such as interviewing and making hiring recommendations.
Perform mid-year and annual performance reviews, providing feedback on performance, achievements, improvement and goal objectives.
Mentor and coach in the areas of leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, productivity and Lean tools/methods.
Evaluate training and development needs for individual team members. Perform gap analysis to develop and improve performance.
Cultivate an environment that promotes individual accountability at all levels.
Conduct safety and product training.
Physical ability to transport objects typically weighing up to 50 lbs.
Able to perform several and/or combination of the following tasks such as to lift, carry, push, pull, sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, twist, reach, grasp and/or work with small objects.
Able to stand and/or walk for considerable (8+ hours) periods.
Extended work hours may be required, including weekends and holidays to meet customer orders.
