The Job:
To provide excellent trade recognised skills and knowledge and customer service to the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of all Carrier Transicold product lines.
Carry out daily work schedules as instructed by your supervisor to ensure customer expectations are met and needs satisfied.
Provide Customer with a first-class service experience whilst ensuring the ongoing profitability and growth of the service operation in-line with company strategy and objectives.
Always work in a safe manner in line with Carrier Transicold safety policies.
Ensure all Field Service Technician administration requirements are completed accurately and submitted to the service office as requested in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend to field service calls for service, repairs and maintenance of all Carrier product lines.
Carry out general overhaul, repair, service, fabrication and finishing activities within the workshop or in-field environment.
Adhere to all UTC and Carrier Transicold Australia policies, procedures, and work instructions
Apply basic inventory control practices in carrying out field or workshop repairs and maintenance
Always maintain a clean and tidy work environment
Report any breakdowns or unsafe practices to your supervisor or manager
Maintain flexibility to travel and work overtime at short notice. At times country work may be required, involving long hours and overnight stays
Take proper care of any service vehicle or company vehicle which may be allocated to you to perform your job function. The vehicle must be kept clean and tidy, well stocked with spare parts and tools required to handle onsite service work and after hours call outs
Ensure the physical security of inventory and company supplied tools and equipment within your care, custody, and control
Maintain a personal toolbox containing the appropriate tools of trade
Always ensure Maximum efficiency and productivity
Provide prompt service support to customers in line with the company and customer expectations.
Ensure overall productivity is maximized and non – productive time is minimal
Ensure all service staff are always treated fairly and with dignity and respect
To actively promote the company service capability to key and targeted customers
Participate in a parts and tool stock take of Stores or service vehicles as per the company policies and procedures when required
Participate in the 24/7 service on call roster throughout any calendar year in line with CTD service provisions and schedules. To be available when required for “after hours”, “on call” or overtime at short notice to facilitate both the company and customer requirements
Promote and adhere to EH&S in relation to the service department ensuring compliance with safe work procedures, safety, and hazard awareness, and promoting EH&S at every opportunity, insisting and ensuring on safe work practices, planning to do work safely, observing EH&S requirements and statutory rules and regulations.
To ensure customers and staff are treated in a professional manner and the company is always represented with integrity
Never act in a manner which would expose the company to any liability, nor pledge the company’s credit above the levels of authority that exist with this role
Ensure work carried out is representative of first-class trade practices, and is “fit for the purpose” and that neither the company nor the customer is exposed to compounding costs from work incorrectly addressed in the first occasion
Possess a thorough and current knowledge of first-class customer service and standards applicable to the services provided by the company
Ensure costs and expenses are treated with restraint and in line with the company expectations and operating budget
Ensure your objectives relating to quality and customer satisfaction requirements are achieved, and to make process improvement recommendations to address the identified needs as desired.
Recognize and promote the principles of continuous improvement in accord with the company’s quality objectives and procedures
Undertake additional tasks as requested by the Service Supervisor or Service Manager
Participate in monthly service meetings (Service bulletins, safety bulletins etc)
Participation in training on any identified issues that may require training for service staff, either product, personal or professional growth
