The Commercial HVAC Sustainability Manager will be responsible for developing a standard process to track and measure progress against Carrier’s ESG strategy within HVAC. 

Working closely with the leadership team, the Commercial HVAC Sustainability Manager will be responsible for guiding Commercial HVAC on best practices and building out a roadmap of interdependencies for tracking and measuring Commercial HVAC’s execution of the 2030 ESG Goals. This requires exceptional collaboration with the cross-functional team and Commercial HVAC leadership to manage and communicate progress against the goals, track the commitments and KPIs as well as identify risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

Commercial HVAC Sustainability Manager will be responsible for establishing and executing the roadmaps for achieving Carrier’s 2030 ESG Goals within the Commercial HVAC business:

  • Define the 2030 ESG Goal roadmaps for Commercial HVAC ESG in collaboration with Carrier WHQ ESG function and other HVAC functions
  • Lead cross-functional ESG team execution of the roadmaps to achieve both 2025 and 2030 ESG goals
  • Engage leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities
  • Partner with functional leaders within Commercial HVAC to incorporate the ESG working model, measure the approach and operationalize the model through the various organizational footprints
  • Collect and analyze data, develop reports and provide recommendations to leadership on sustainability strategy and related company initiatives.
  • Partner with manufacturing sites leadership to identify emission, water, and waste reduction opportunities
  • Co-manage emission, water, and waste reduction projects along with manufacturing site personnel
  • Coordinate external partnerships to facilitate and drive ESG related projects at manufacturing sites
  • Develop standard processes to track, measure, and report quarterly progress against all of Carrier’s 2030 ESG goals, working in collaboration with the WHQ Sustainability team
  • Spot and creatively solve complex, cross-functional operational issues, often in an unfamiliar space
  • Continually refine best practices for sustainability and ESG consistent with Carrier Excellence and culture.

Experience & Key Skills

  • Environmental sustainable background
  • Strong knowledge of facilities utility management
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills that reflect an ability to clarify and simplify complex issues and subject matters.
  • Experience in cross-functional project management in complex operating environments
  • Ability to build deep relationships across senior stakeholders
  • Ability to integrate the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent people leadership skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, high-quality work, and the ability to make recommendations are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a successful track record
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills across cultures

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Sustainability or related field; MBA or advanced degree/certification preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in technical or project management roles
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills and a high degree of business acumen
  • The outstanding initiative, creativity, and energy
  • High ethical standards are demonstrated by the individual’s approach to the business and the ability to set the tone for the organization.
  • Ability to travel (estimated 20%)
