The candidate will lead Engineering Sustainability programs for Carrier as part of the central World Headquarters Engineering Operations organization. With a renewed focus at Carrier on Sustainability and aggressive 2030 ESG goals, the project manager will lead programs to track progress to goals, execute programs to enable attainment of ESG goals and initiatives.

This position can be located in Charlotte, North Carolina; Palm Beach Gardens; Florida; Indianapolis, Indiana; Syracuse, New York; or Bradenton, Florida.

Responsibilities:

Engineering PMO lead for establishing and executing the engineering plans for achieving Carrier’s 2030 ESG Goals and sustainability initiatives across all business units and geographical locations. 

  • Lead cross-functional and cross-BU team to execute programs and projects to achieve both 2030 ESG goals and sustainability initiatives. Includes but is not limited to gigaton goal tracking, reporting, and glide path updates, as well as regulatory and chemical compliance data collection and reporting tools.
  • Communication across the organization, from individual contributors to Senior leadership on progress, risks and opportunities. 
  • Partner with Business Unit representatives and Functional leaders to establish requirements, collect data, generate reports, create dashboards, create and execute project plans, and identify and mitigate risks.
  • Create and maintain standard work for engineering ESG & sustainability processes & drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Spot and creatively solve complex, cross-functional operational issues, often in an unfamiliar space
  • Coordinate and project/task manage engineering sustainability efforts and influence priorities internally and with the management team of BU segments.

Experience / Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in executing strategic initiatives across a complex global organization
  • Background in sustainability or materials engineering preferred
  • An understanding of project management processes and methods. PMP certification is preferred but not required.
  • An ability to prioritize and communicate across a diverse set of business customers
  • Strong communication & networking skills - experience and presence communicating at all levels of the organization
  • Programmatic skills to assess what is not working and what needs to be done, create plans in place for direction and implement lessons learned/best practices.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and influence without authority
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Ability to integrate the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders 
  • Proven ability to drive discipline and process orientation in a large, complex organization
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail, high-quality work, and the ability to make recommendations are essential. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years working in engineering and/or project management 
  • PMP, Agile or similar certification is preferred but not required

Pay Range:

$119,250 - $166,750 Annually
