What You'll Do
Comply with all applicable regulations, codes, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety
Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions, prescribed by the client
Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work may include landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning
Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance-complete maintenance and repair records as required
Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete the job and order the necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks
Maintain an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum
Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements
Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed
Respond quickly to emergencies, arranging additional assistance as needed.

What You'll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations

New York Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Building Engineer position is $70,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Building Engineer position is $89,250 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
