Principal Consultant - DataOps Architect - Digital Velocity

DataOps Architect - Tech Lead engages with clients and internal teams to provide design and engineering activities for Data projects and solutions. This role is expected to be a thought leader in the areas of technical solutions provided for our customer. The Tech Lead is also responsible for working with OCTO (Office of the CTO) and Management to align delivery teams on best practices and upskilling engineering resources. 

Key Areas of Responsibility 

• Professional services delivery for Digital Velocity Solutions, a CDW company, customers globally on major Public Cloud platforms
• Work with DVS clients to understand their current data architecture and strategy
• Develop data solutions to store and retrieve client’s information
• Installing and configuring information systems to ensure functionality
• Analyzing structural requirements for new software and applications
• Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality
• Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications
• Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
• Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
• Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements
• Optimize new and current database systems
• Define security and backup procedures
• Coordinate with the Data Science department to identify future needs and requirements
• Provide operational support for Management Information Systems (MIS)
• Performing Billable work at other IGNW clients (Consulting Engagements)
• Presales consulting on occasion for Data and DataOps projects
• Reviewing scopes and statements of work for Data and DataOps projects
• Meet Training and certification requirements for selected Vendors (GCP AWS, Azure, Hashicorp, Docker, CKA, Etc)
• Helping IGNW to develop and mature our DataOps Engineering practice areas in response to client needs and market demand
• Travel estimate is 25%
• Internal projects when applicable

Education and/or Skill-Set Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in deployment of private/public cloud solutions
• Knowledge and skill level in identified competencies meet minimum requirements for role
• Previous direct customer consulting experience or equivalent understanding of role responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles
• Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
• Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
• Expertise in SQL
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, D3.js and R)
• Highly proficient in at least one public cloud platform data products (Microsoft Azure highly preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to speak to business value of public cloud solutions data capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to lead client facing conversations to drive success in consulting engagements
• Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills, able to mentor and guide internal engineering and personnel technical development teams
• Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
• Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
• Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize
• Ability to apply common sense while engaging with customers and providing solutions
• Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Engineer, Data Scientist Certifications: AWS/GCP/Azure

• Knowledge of Machine Learning concepts, tools and techniques

• Knowledge of modern data warehousing tools

• Knowledge of Big Data concepts, tools and ecosystem

• Additional technology areas and experience: Python, additional scripting languages, additional software development languages, infrastructure experience, networking experience

• Previous consulting experience
