Ensure that team members are working to their full potential, that work is evenly distributed amongst staff, and systems are being utilised correctly and to the maximum. Work should be processed effectively and efficiently to meet time constraints, specific shipment requirements and provide customer satisfaction.
Monitor for communications and customers being supported appropriately.
Observe and evaluate the team's performance and progress to make sure they become and remain a fully integrated team members of the department.
Make recommendations for any training requirements and offer assistance/ support to All Import staff.
Ensure all team members are up to date and fully trained on all new guidelines and SOP's and technological changes.
Schedule and host regular meetings to discuss the general running of the department.
Identify areas where change may be required and implement the change when appropriate
To assist with recruitment, training and development of all new team members to the department.
Ensure that regular individual 1-1 Feedback sessions are carried out to evaluate performance of all team members.
Conduct Annual Appraisals with all team members to ensure their continued development.
Assist with investigational/disciplinary proceedings
Additional duties as required, including assisting with payroll, financial reconciliations, interviews, team member issues and development, Administration etc

Candidates Requirements (Essential Criteria)
Experience in airfreight Import operations and temperature control management (Desirable)
Must have proven leadership skills
Able to follow procedures & instructions and provide relevant information on request
Able to take on projects at the request of management
Able to delegate as appropriate.
Good communication skills - verbal and written
Must have strong experience & knowledge in Dutch Customs and related customs systems
