Prepare & submit import paperwork. Low & high value (includes consignee brokers)
Monitor the customs clearance progress
Resolve import delays (customs queries/stops, DAFF, DoH etc)
Ensure compliance with import authorities (SARS and other entities)
WS and TMS updates including import charges
Monitor temperature requirements thoroughly
Ensure replenishment instructions are carried out and updated in the WS and TMS system
Request charges from vendors (truck hire, DG packaging etc)
Ensure import regulations are met (DoH, DAFF etc)
Ensure complete usage and completion of the following mentioned programs:
Transport Management System (TMS)
Jetstream
ShipShape (Imports & Exports)
DASH
Bio-Star Next-Gen (OMNI)
CTM-Star
Op-Star
OptiView & Filebound
Coldstream Select
X-Act & Cubixx
Any new and upcoming programs / systems
Quality and support functions
Ensure that the Operational Key Indicators (KPI) are meeting the organizations expectations.
Support the Customer Service department as well as the Sales department whenever required.
Support the Operations Supervisor Johannesburg where needed
Ensure the companies temperature control handling SOP's are being followed rigorously in order to ensure shipment integrity at any time.
Administrative tasks
Ensuring that all charges are allocated in all jobs correctly and accurately.
Uploading of PODs into TMS Jobs & DASH on a daily basis.
Ensuring Vehicle check sheets are in order and completed as per SOP requirements.
Ensuring that all SOP, Work Instructions and Policies annex documents are completed as per GDP requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background environment in the courier/freight industry
NSC / SC / Matric / Grade 12
Valid Driver's License (Code B or higher) [Manual Transmission]
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:
Operations Supervisor Johannesburg
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency with Office program package
Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
Fluency in English
Ability to complete multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines -> excellent organizational and time management skills
Able to prioritize workload
Self Motivated
High attention to detail.

Have logistics knowledge ( preferred). Excellent interpersonal relationships. Be able to take initiatives and responsibilities. Computer skills (if applicable).
