    Database Administrator (Junior to Senior)

    Position Description
    CGI Federal is looking for Database Administrators to join our team in the Patuxent River area. This team supports a Department of Defense (DoD) client.

    Your future duties and responsibilities
    • Design and implement features in collaboration with team engineers, data analysts, and other business partners using Agile methodology
    • Analyze organizational Information Technology (IT) needs from an operational and strategic perspective
    • Complete technical tasks using analysis, design, programming methods, and relational database management techniques
    • Perform systems management/integration functions to improve existing computer systems/environment
    • Recommend improvements to computer system capabilities and workflow
    • Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems
    • Coordinate changes to computer databases
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability
    • May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role
    • 3-10 years of relevant experience required; various positions available (Junior to Senior)
    • Bachelor degree in related field; Associate degree required for junior positions
    • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required; must be a US Citizen
    • DoD Information Assurance Technician (IAT) certification required (Security+CE, CASP, CISSP, SSCP, CCNA-Security, etc.)
    • Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required after start date
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
    • Analytical thinking
    • Experience with database monitoring, database backup/recovery, and storage optimization
    • Monitor performance and tune, diagnose and repair data systems.
    • Conduct status reporting to IT management and project teams as required

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $75,000 - $210,000.
