Position summary

  1. Compliance and Auditing:
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain data integrity.
  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of employee records in payroll systems.
  • Stay updated on payroll legislation, tax changes, and reporting requirements.
  • Accountable for the review of the payroll compare ensuring the effectiveness of key controls.
  1. Employee Support:
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Educate employees on payroll policies, tax forms, and benefits-related concerns.
  1. Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and benefits teams to align payroll operations with organizational goals.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports for management review.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to optimize payroll workflows and implement best practices.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payroll activities.
  • Training new team members in operating procedures and payroll systems.
  1. Projects:
  • Support Payroll and HR project through testing to ensure accuracy.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, HR, or related field; CPP certification preferred.

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll operations or a related role.

  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g. Workday, Pro WFM, ADP Smart Compliance) and MS Office Suite (Excel a must, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage laws, and compliance standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Full-time exempt role, typically requiring 40 hours per week.

  • May require occasional overtime to meet payroll deadlines or during audits.

  • Hybrid or in-office work environment.
