Position summary

lop and implement models and algorithms to tackle sophisticated business problems using operations research, statistics, and machine learning techniques

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to explain trends, develop insights, and provide actionable recommendations

  • Prototype and evaluate analytical or optimization models (e.g., predictive models, optimization frameworks, experimentation approaches) to support decision-making

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the business (e.g., Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Planning, or related functions) to find opportunities and drive impact

  • Support process improvement initiatives that improve performance, efficiency, and key business metrics

What You'll Need

  • Enrolled full-time in a PhD program in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027

  • 1+ years of hands-on academic or practical experience developing and deploying optimization, predictive, or machine learning models (experience with reinforcement learning is a plus)

  • Experience applying data science or analytical methods to real-world business problems; exposure to domains such as supply chain, operations, marketing, or customer analytics is preferred

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Experience with at least one optimization solver or advanced analytical tool (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, Xpress, or similar) is a plus

  • Familiarity with collaborative development tools (e.g., Git, Confluence)

  • Ability to translate complex analyses and research into clear, actionable business recommendations

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing requirements

  • Ability to understand and apply advanced mathematics and statistics

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from June 8, 2026 - August 14, 2026

The hourly range for this role is $50.00.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
