Cloud Engineer is a key member of Chipotle’s Cloud Engineering team which is at the forefront of preparing and delivering on Chipotle’s unprecedented growth. This individual is responsible for the implementation, modernization, and automation of Chipotle's enterprise-wide technical, architecture-based solutions for enterprise business, integration, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Chipotle's public and private cloud presence.

The role will act as a key contributor for technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the IT organization, ensuring technical solutions are sustainable and efficient, secure, and compliant.

This role will build deep and collaborative relationships with other teams in order to support and advance Chipotle’s overall success, including Data Engineering, AppDev, Product, IT Security, and Corporate Support.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Principle responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain dynamically scalable, available, fault-tolerant, secure, and reliable services and applications in the public cloud
• Build and maintain virtual networks, subnets, and appropriate security solutions within cloud platforms
• Use a combination of DevOps, automation, orchestration, and scripting concepts/languages to perform day-to-day job functions
• Experience administering/supporting Windows and Linux systems
• Leverage a working knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and Helm to configure and support multiple environments and platforms
• Select, deploy, and maintain appropriate cloud based services in a secure manner based on given requirements; leverage Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud and other appropriate capabilities. Experience with multi-region and BC/DR.
• Conduct research into emerging technologies and trends (such as cloud vs edge vs fog), standards, and products as required
• Support the Office365 environment
• Apply knowledge of AD/AAD and Identities to apply appropriate Role Based Access Controls
• Document processes and procedures where gaps in such are identified
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university in Computer Science or Engineering required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Current technical certifications with a focus on one or more of the major Cloud Service Providers such as Azure, AWS, or Google preferred.
• Clear, effective written and verbal communications skills; Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (iaas/paas, server, storage, network, security, aad) to provide end-to-end Cloud Infrastructure Designs.
• Participate in on-call rotation; Some travel may be required.
