    Position summary

    As the European Head of GTL, you will collaborate closely with your peers within the region as well as aligning with peers across our Global Network. In collaboration with our Global GTL team, you will drive European commercial activities through own prospecting and selling while you will be personally responsible for shaping the vertical strategy, market positioning and value proposition in Europe.

    You will drive regional commercial activities predominantly in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium as it relates to identifying opportunities, own selling, driving focus, reporting on progress and challenges while working in close conjunction with regional Commercial and Product leadership. For larger opportunities you will directly contribute to the Solution Design analysis and help research the customer’s supply chain needs in detail to provide a custom solution. The position requires a highly entrepreneurial and commercial mindset along with in depth knowledge about the specific operational/service requirements within the GTL marketplace. You will be part of a highly competent International GTL team and you will report directly to our European GF Sales Director, with a dotted line to our Director of Global GTL.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the evolution of our European GTL vertical strategy, in collaboration with local and global stakeholders, specifically in the design of our European Go to Market strategy in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium
    • Leading the positioning of our value proposition to GTL clients based in Europe and specifically in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium
    • Plan and execute short/medium- and long-term goals related to business growth. Build strong relationships with key customers, facilitate in offering competitive products, pricing, and market delivery options
    • Analyzing market trends and forecasts
    • Provide management summaries to leadership on progress being made
    • Work with local and regional management to develop sales strategies, target lists, and volume growth goals for Air & Ocean products within the sector
    • Facilitate conference calls between the various teams weekly, monthly and quarterly to keep everyone up to date and organized
    • Communicate and ensure execution of strategies by working with local and regional sales resources and overseas counterparts
    • Make recommendations of strategic nature to ensure sustained growth of C.H. Robinson market share on identified lanes
    • Contribute to set the global strategy with your peer group in cooperation with leadership.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of successful working experience with a strong understanding of the International Forwarding market primarily within Air & Ocean (FCL/LCL)
    • Comprehensive experience within the GTL vertical from a Commercial, Product and Operational perspective.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to “build” from the ground up
    • Ability to work collaboratively and influence others
    • Effective communication, presentation, and documentation skills
    • Natural in establishing and managing relationships, with varying levels of stakeholders
    • Comfortable leading meetings and group discussions and speaking in public
    • Initiative-taker, able to think, plan, and act independently
    • Keen sense for business development with a “hunter” mentality.
    • Fluency in English is required. Additional European languages are beneficial
    • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Willingness and flexibility to travel in Europe (specifically France, Italy, Spain and Belgium) up to 50% of time
    • Location: flexible.
