    Position summary

    What You'll Do

    The Product Operations team is looking for a Program Manager to be accountable for volume manufacturing readiness, total cost management, and BOM resiliency. This includes NPI Program Management, NPI Cost and Sourcing responsibilities, high level details below.

    New Product Introduction Program Management:

    • Manages the cost BOM integrity, risk analysis, as well as supply chain strategy communication to the Operations and the BU teams
    • Performs BOM risk analysis, identifying and validating risk parts driving resolution or developing mitigation plans for all high risk parts, single and sole sourced rated components prior to First Customer Ship
    • Prepares the supply chain and manages a ramp plan to ensure continuity of material supply and delivery between proto and early production
    • Oversees supplier performance and team expectations by actively driving suppliers to meet or exceed committed performance by establishing relationships and trust with suppliers
    • Manages and ensures a smooth product transition from NPI to Sustaining by applying the transition checklist and the Product Lifecycle Cost Plan prior to pilot and gaining agreement with Mfg Ops and the PLPM on the final checklist

    NPI Cost:

    • Understands all elements of hardware and software product cost; validates the integrity of the costed BOM and forward costing; able to clearly articulate the main cost drivers, cost reduction, and cost avoidance activities
    • Support Standard & Gross Margin management of HW & SW products through value engineering, BOM optimization and cost savings and avoidance activities

    Sourcing:

    • Uses appropriate resources and influence for HW & SW sourcing decisions to achieve optimal product cost and supply chain alignment
    • Communicates HW & SW commodity strategies to the BU and Ops teams
    • Engage with key HW & SW suppliers, GSM and Business Unit to ensure performance expectations are met and align with future sourcing decisions
    • Conduct early engagement forums to align product technology and commodity strategies

    Who You'll Work With

    You will be part of a cross functional team of product engineers, project managers, commodity managers, and design engineers. Your focus will be developing next generation network routing products.

    Required Skills and Background

    • 12+ years related experience in manufacturing
    • Demonstrated experience of Bill Of Material (BOM) and Material Management (including cost drivers of BOM)
    • Experience with Data Analysis and Manufacturing; cost and lead time, analyzing data and provide options on mitigating risks.
    • Experience developing options for components, suppliers and manufacturing ramp challenges
    • Deep understanding of cost-pricing tools and data base knowledge, Agile PDM, Planning and scheduling material and prototype deliveries.
    • Experience managing inventories, excess and obsolete and purchase price variation
    • Strong use of Excel, Tableau and Power Point
