Tech Lead, Platform Engineering - Duo Security

Our team members get to work on various aspects of our service from the platform architecture to end-user facing features. This mobility helps them build their skills and develop compassion for our end users resulting in a best in class product. When you join the Platform Engineering group you will be paired with a team that matches your interests and skills. As your interests evolve you will have the opportunity to experience and give to other areas within our group.

The teams within the Platform Architecture group are creating application level platform solutions like additional levels of security for integration of services based on Kafka and SQS, intelligent rate limiters for endpoints, and various services used by end users and other product teams to build out Zero Trust Security solutions.

Skills we are looking for…

• 8+ years professional experience solving problems preferably in highly scalable SaaS applications
• Experience with web application development using Python, or similar modern language, or have an eagerness to learn
• Able to work constructively in a group, not led by ego
• Willing to learn new tools and technologies
• Experience delivering quality software through automated software testing practices
• Passion for usability and user experience, whether the user is internal or external
• Love collaborating with, instructing, and learning from hard-working peers on software projects

Even better if you have...

• You have worked with vanilla Javascript or Javascript libraries like React
• You have experience with asynchronous programming patterns like in Node, .NET, and Python’s asyncio
• You have experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• You are familiar with SQL and NoSQL database models
• You worked with AWS based frameworks
• You have knowledge of encryption, authentication, and authorization
• You have a solid understanding of security standard methodologies in web development
