    As a Driveline Test Technician, you will be responsible for the Assembly & Disassembly of both prototype and production transmissions, axles, and gearboxes per Engineering Specification.  You will be involved in the set-up, monitoring and teardown of driveline test stands used for physical evaluation of performance and durability of driveline components.  You will work in a cross-functional environment; interfacing regularly with Test Engineering, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering in support of New Product Development as well as Current Product Problem Resolution.

    The position will be moved to the Racine, WI location. Interim coverage will need to be provided to the Burr Ridge, IL facility with paid travel until the move is complete. Candidates who live 50 plus miles from the Racine, WI location would be eligible for relocation assistance.

    Responsibilities

    • Assembly & Disassembly per engineering specification of complex drivelines including gearboxes, axles and transmissions for Ag and Construction Equipment.
    • Mechanical Set-up, Operation, and monitoring of driveline component and integrated vehicle systems tests in laboratory, track or field environments.
    • Connect and verify instrumentation used for data acquisition on driveline tests. Create necessary wiring, requiring crimp and/or soldering as required to connect necessary sensors. 
    • Collect test data for analysis by the responsible test engineer.
    • Interface with test engineers to clearly understand priority and requirements of assigned tests.
    • Maximize test run time. When tests go down diagnose issues encountered or reasons why, quickly resolve problems, and restart as required.
    • Support determining if the component(s) / system(s) under evaluation are operating according to the intended Design criteria.
    • Complete analysis of field return parts. Work with Test and Design Engineers, providing support in the diagnosis of failures and root cause determination.
    • Follow lab test procedures and processes.
    • Position Pays $62,000 to $90,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

    Qualifications

    The qualified candidate will have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar or 2-year technical degree and 2 plus years experience in related field.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Strong hands-on mechanical skills and experience a must.
    • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and low voltage electrical systems
    • Proficiency using tools such as multimeters to measure voltage, current, continuity in the troubleshooting of low voltage systems
    • Experience with using instrumentation & data acquisition systems such as NI VeriStand preferred.
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PPT).
