es as required by area of service. Patients served at Cook Childrens range in age from newborn through the adolescent period. Every effort will be made to collect specimens in the least traumatic manner to both child and family, to include attention to age appropriate child life issues and pain management techniques. Additionally, adults are occasionally served. Specific instructions appear in the procedure manuals. All Laboratory personnel are required to follow Cook Childrens Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and the Clinical Laboratory Compliance Plan. Laboratory and Corporate Compliance, as outlined by the OIG and HCFA is an important aspect of our laboratorys environment, and each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of, and behave in accordance with the Laboratory and Cook Childrens Compliance Plans. These job functions are performed with a professional, courteous and knowledgeable manner towards physicians, management, nurses, co-workers, and other customers of Cook Children's Healthcare System.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED required
Have a minimum of one year phlebotomy experience, pediatric experience preferred
Certification (phlebotomy, medical assistant) preferred
