    Accounts Payable Clerk - Position Overview:

    • The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Accounts Payable Supervisor in ensuring efficient working function of the Accounts Payable Department.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Customer service for plants and vendors including phone calls, faxes, and e-mails.

    • Research vendor statements as applicable

    • Backup other accounts payable team members as needed.

    • Adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley rules.

    • Document archiving

    • Setup and processing of recurring invoice payments

    • Stop payments.

    • Check copies.

    • Voiding checks

    • Process invoices using the purchase order system

    • Process credit memos

    • Enter utility payments as assigned

    • Research vendor and refund checks

    • Open and distribute mail and faxes

    • Backup the receptionist as needed

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills

    • Excellent telephone skills

    • Effective planning and organizational skills

    • Ability to analyze and solve problems

    • Ability to multi-task

    • Ability to function in time-critical situations

    • Adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

    • Adherence to West Virginia Paving policies & procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.

    • Willingness to work in a team environment & assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

    • Timely and regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

    • Knowledge with Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    • Overtime may be required during peak season, including some evenings and weekends.

    Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Education and Experience

    High school diploma or equivalent required, Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred. ViewPoint experience is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to set for long periods of time. Must be able to move short distances as well as up and down stairs. Must be able to lift and carry files and boxes up and down stairs.
