Construction Intern

e estimating and production target software, and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders including estimators and project managers. Interns in this position will gain exposure to quality assurance practices and the application of regulatory standards in a dynamic industrial setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and setup of projects

• Assist with daily paving crew scheduling software

• Assist with crew production target setting software

• Assist with tracking daily quantities

• Assist with tracking project costs and payments

• Perform field measurements and grade checks

• Assist with job quantity measurements

• Assist with final billing quantities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite

• Learn estimating and bid tracking software

• Read specifications and plans

• Complete material and quantity takeoffs

• Work with estimators, project managers and construction crews.

• Spend time working with plant operators

• Assist with asphalt testing in the lab and on the job

Job Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college degree program, preferably in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technologies, Civil Engineering, or closely related program of study.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction

• Detail oriented

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.

• Valid driver's license and reliable automobile

• Willingness to drive to our multiple sites across the Greater Rochester Region and Southern Tier with mileage reimbursement program
