Financial Systems Analyst
The Financial Systems Analyst will support our core financial reporting systems; including Infor M3 ERP, d/EPM and Tririga (IBM), and partner with our Accounting, IT, FP&A, and Financial Reporting teams. The role will report to the Financial Systems Manager and support our user base, which includes operating company controllers & finance teams relying on financial statements. Additionally, the role will encompass supporting the monthly reporting of consolidated financial data to our parent company. This will be a high touch role with a great deal of exposure and opportunity to drive our FSS (Financial Systems Support) function and growing business & reporting needs. This role will offer opportunities to learn and acquire skills “on-the-job”. The ideal candidate will understand accounting and financial reporting aspects, have a technical aptitude and passion for financial systems, and experience/exposure in report writing.
Job Responsibilities
Month-end Process (30%): Responsible for opening/closing ERP system modules. Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure smooth month-end processes. Support monthly parent level data submissions. This includes ensuring that the month-end close process is completed in accordance with SOX requirements and that all financial data is accurate and complete.
Hierarchy & Report Maintenance (20%): Maintain ERP structure, including hierarchy/COA structure, maintenance of existing accounts, execution of entity changes. Additionally, assist in creation, management, and automation of key reports / dashboards and assist in the review of actual vs. forecast, budget, and prior year with appropriate stakeholders. This includes ensuring that the ERP structure and all financial reports are accurate, up-to-date, compliant, and generate correctly according to SOX requirements.
Reconciliation (15%): Compare the balance of a financial accounts to the supporting documentation to ensure that the balance is accurate. This includes identifying discrepancies between the balance of a financial account and the supporting documentation, communicating those discrepancies, and partnering with IT & operational business partners on resolution.
Analyzing Business Requirements (15%): Lead meetings to understand the needs of the organization in order to design and implement effective financial systems. This includes working with stakeholders to gather requirements, identifying areas for improvement, and developing solutions that meet the organization's goals.
User Training (10%): Assist in user training; help users optimize system functionality. This includes providing training on financial reporting systems and procedures to ensure that users can use the systems effectively and efficiently.
Policies & Procedures (10%): Follow and refresh processes and procedures surrounding entity and COA changes. Promote compliance with best practices and standard business processes including the communication, training and ongoing updates of policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that all policies and procedures related to financial reporting are in place and are being followed.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in information technology, accounting or finance preferred
2+ years’ experience in financial business process, controls, reporting, financial systems, or related field
Report writing exposure, Finance/Accounting/FP&A related work experience
Preferred experience in M3, d/EPM, EPM, HFM or other consolidation tools and processes
Understanding of Finance/Accounting, reporting, data movement and understanding consequences of system changes
Understanding of SOX compliance
