tion Overview**
Mechanics are responsible for assisting with the day to day activities both in the shop and in the field as directed with an assigned service truck. This includes the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of all mobile equipment within the fleet of the Cranston Shop under the direction of the local shop management.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Selected candidate must be able to troubleshoot and repair all types of mobile equipment both in a shops and in the field and have the skill set to work safely and independantly, all of the time.
Must have a strong working knowledge and fundamentals of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Basic welding/fabrication skills are a must.
Selected candidate must have their own tools.
Strong focus on Shop 5S adherence including service trucks under the direction of local shop management.
Basic computer skills required for equipment diagnosis, view schematics and daily time card entry.
Adhere to any and all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Strict adherence to policies, procedures and safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Associates degree from college or technical school; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Requirements
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
A valid driver's license and medical card.
