Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
HR Related Functions:
Assist with recruitment activities: format and update job descriptions.
Review Recruitment postings and materials and partnering with Region Recruiters
Support HR projects as assigned, including project formatting and categorizing team channels
Review our safety PPE (physical performance evaluations) requirements and update job descriptions and work with our 3rd party to standardize our testing requirements.
Support Learning & Development Manager with new initiatives and programs
Communications Related Functions:
Assist in managing the company's social media presence: drafting posts, scheduling content, monitoring engagement, and helping develop and execute new campaign ideas across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Compile reports on social media performance, analyzing metrics and identifying opportunities to improve reach and engagement.
Additional Responsibilities
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and all employees
Ability to work independently or with little supervision.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Adherence to Texas Materials policies and procedures as outlined in the Texas Region Employee Handbook.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform and / or learn to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in HR, Business, Communications or related field
Strong interest in Human Resources or Communications
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
High level of attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
Reliable, proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Strong computer skills are required.
Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Ability to express and communicate verbally.
Proficiency / ability to learn Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro)
