Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Assist in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, inventory adjustments, reconciliations, variance analyses, financial reporting, and other areas assigned.
Maintain accounting records, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
Prepare all assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure appropriate backup.
Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Support the accurate inventory reporting for all Lines of Business (Aggregates, Asphalt, Ready-mix), as needed. This will include production reporting, periodic inventory adjustments, and inventory reconciliations.
Assist with the Fixed Assets and Construction Revenue Recognition processes as needed.
Collaborate with others to help create and implement continued improvements and efficiencies within the department, as well as the Company.
Organize and maintain financial records.
Assist with quarterly SEC GAAP Reporting Pack schedules as directed.
Adhere to all assigned controls and ensure that they are executed in a timely manner to safeguard the financial assets of the company and ensure accurate financial reporting. This includes all SOX controls, CRH Americas Materials (CRH AMAT) and Northeast Division accounting policies and procedures.
Assist with internal and external audits as directed by the VP of Finance and Assistant Controller.
Work on ad hoc projects and assignments as directed.
Additional Responsibilities

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook programs.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Dolomite Company employees.
Strict adherence to Dolomite's policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
Adherence to accounting manual and SOX controls.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
Minimum of one to three years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Public accounting or audit background preferred.
Preferably have proven experience as a Staff Accountant, Financial Analyst, or similar role.
Manufacturing and/or construction background is highly desired.
Work Requirements
Individual must possess a working knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts. Must demonstrate strong numerical skills and the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions. Attention to detail and presentation of the work product to a high standard is required.
Individual must possess a questioning mind and the ability to think independently. Ability to challenge situations in a constructive manner and present reasonable alternatives.
Individual must possess strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify and investigate potential problems with respect to accounting and internal control issues.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Individual must possess strong computer skills and be proficient with Outlook, Excel and Word.
Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints
Ability to work effectively in a team setting

Compensation & Company Benefits:
Competitive Base Salary is $60,000 to $70,000 + bonus
