Main Purposes of the Job
The Supply Chain Coordinator supports the end-to-end movement of goods within the GDS function, ensuring that products, materials, and services are delivered accurately, on time, and in line with organisational standards. This role is responsible for coordinating logistics, monitoring‑ inventory, managing supplier communication, and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Coordination
Coordinate daily supply chain activities including ordering, scheduling, transportation, and delivery.
Monitor production schedules and ensuring timely alerts regarding delays.
Track shipments and resolve delays or discrepancies promptly.
Coordinate with quality engineers to ensure product quality inspections are scheduled and completed before shipping
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
Serve as a point of contact for suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, and performance metrics.
Support the onboarding and evaluation of new vendors as required.
Data, Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and maintain supply chain documentation such as purchase orders, delivery notes, shipping documents and invoices.
Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Produce weekly and monthly supply chain performance reports for management.
Logistics & Inventory Support
Assist with demand planning, forecasting, and stock optimisation.
Coordinate warehouse activities where relevant (receiving, dispatching, stock counts).
Ensure compliance with regulatory, health & safety, and organisational standards.
Continuous Improvement
Support process improvements within the GDS supply chain to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
Contribute to operational projects and system enhancements.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or a related field.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in MS Excel and supply chain/ERP systems.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable
Knowledge of global sourcing operations or similar distribution models.
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
Understanding of import/export procedures or transportation compliance.
Qualifications
Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
APICS, CIPS, or similar accreditation beneficial but not essential.
