Position summary

We are looking for a talented Materials Handler for our 1st shift to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Charleston Recon plant in Ladson, SC. 

Under some supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse.

Material Handlers are responsible for all material movement within the production floor, which includes incoming material from the warehouse.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Ensure incoming goods are received within a timely manner
  • Help to keep the product moving within the warehouse floor
  • Staging material at production lines, and staging finishing product for shipment or movement back to the warehouse.

To be successful in this role you will need the following: 

  • Must have either your HS Diploma or GED
  • Willing to work in a team environment
  • Have a strong work ethic, and willingness to get the job done in a safe manner
  • Work Firemen Shifts (12 hours a day)

  Responsibilities while in this role

  • Receiving incoming goods, sorting, labeling, and storing to optimize warehouse space
  • Perform quality checks for damage and discrepancies between good and invoices.
  • Some roles may require you to operate tugers, forklifts, and other warehouse-related machinery.
  • Accurately sort, label, store goods, and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
  • Certified to operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery.

Qualifications - Internal

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc.) and/or other heavy machinery.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Push, pull, lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to achieve PIV certification
  • Stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate relevant warehouse management computer software
  • Identify and label materials and record their locations

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
